EC & BC Gravel
During the first European and BK Gravel Championships on 1 October, the best riders at both national and international level will compete for the Belgian and European titles. With this double first, the Flemish-Brabant municipality will become the epicentre of gravel cycling in our country and beyond.
Riders can take part in the European championships if they have a European nationality and hold one of the following licenses.
- Elite license
- UCI teams: mandatory in elite race
- Club teams: option between elite race or age groups
- Masters license: only in the age group starts

On Sunday 1 October, the Brabantse Wouden in and around Oud-Heverlee will be the epicentre of gravel sport. In addition to the European & BK Gravel Championships, this is also a qualifier for the World Championships on 5 and 6 October 2024 where anyone in different age categories may compete! Belgium’s oldest forests are a true paradise for anyone who loves unpaved gravel roads. Gravel lovers can indulge here amid the monumental trees where the most beautiful hollow roads cut deep into the landscape.
This is the chance to start with your favourite elite riders and complete the same course.
Drop down to Oud-Heverlee, discover a beautiful region with diverse fauna & flora, experience a day full of adventure and go home feeling satisfied. The length of the trail depends on your age category. You can find it here.
For the UCI qualifier, you can participate without a licence. Through the KBWB you can then buy a day licence for an additional cost of €10, which you can add at registration. With a day licence you do qualify for the world championships, but you do not compete for the European and Belgian gravel titles.

The Forests of Brabant consists of a unique landscape with old forest cores and open landscapes. The region is therefore a true paradise for those who love unpaved gravel roads, monumental trees and steep slopes in sunken lanes that cut deep into the landscape. No wonder this region is competing for recognition as a national park. To maximise the natural value, the organisers are consulting intensively with the main partners of the Forests of Brabant.
The Zoet Water, tourist attraction of Oud-Heverlee, acts as the start and finish point. The route consists of a long and short loop through the Forests of Brabant. The local loop (28km) mainly follows unpaved roads in open spaces in Oud-Heverlee, Leuven and Bierbeek, passing through the Meerdaal Forest and Heverlee Forest, among others. The long loop (47 km) takes you past Vossem and Tervuren to Jezus-Eik and back along Loonbeek and Sint-Agatha-Rode to Zoet Water.
