1. General

On Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, 2024, Flanders will host the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships, the World Championship for gravel bikes. The National Park Forests of Brabant, the green lung of Flemish Brabant, will be the setting for the event. The finish for all races is in Leuven, with Halle as the starting point.

Do you want to experience this young cycling discipline live? Then make sure to prepare well and choose the right mode of transportation. Due to the expected road congestion, we encourage you to opt for cycling or public transportation. Discover your options below!

Do you want to park as close as possible to the start and finish? Then cycling is by far your best option. Plan your bike route using the excellent route planner from the province of Flemish Brabant. You can park your bike in several temporary bike parking zones near the start and finish locations:

TIP: You can also rent a Bluebike from the Halle and Leuven train stations.

Is cycling from home too far? Be sure to check your options for public transportation or choose the PARK+BIKE option (see below).

3. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

The train stations in Halle and Leuven are conveniently located near the start and finish of the event. Additionally, there is a direct train connection between the two cities. On Sunday, 6/10, the train service to and from Leuven will be enhanced to accommodate the Gravel World Championships. Plan your trip using the NMBS route planner.

The bus services from De Lijn will experience minimal disruption on certain routes due to the race. Some lines and/or stops may have adjusted schedules. However, the stations in Halle and Leuven will be served as much as possible. Plan your bus journey using De Lijn’s route planner.

4. GROUP TRANSPORTATION

Have you organized a private bus or coach? Register it for free via this link. After registration, we will send you the necessary information.

5. Car

Free parking is available for participants in both Halle and Leuven. Please note that registration for the participants’ parking is mandatory. Without a parking voucher, you will not be granted access. Registration is possible until 30/9.

Are you visiting the Gravel World Championships by car? Please take delays into account and leave on time.

Do you prefer free parking? Opt for a PARK+BIKE alternative. Park your car at a distance from the start/finish and cover the last kilometers by bike. From the following PARK+BIKE parking locations, you can reach your destination or the race course in record time:

SHUTTLE SERVICE FOR PARTICIPANTS: LEUVEN – HALLE

To make things as convenient as possible for participants, we are offering a special shuttle service on Saturday and Sunday morning from Leuven (finish location) to Halle (start location). This way, you can fully focus on your performance without worrying about transportation.
