Leuven

Leuven, a cosy ‘city on a human scale’ with the cosmopolitan feel of a metropolis. Discover the traces of history, enjoy the creative and cultural atmosphere, the vibrancy of the almost 600-year-old university and its students, the wide range of bars, restaurants and shops. Leuven breathes both tradition and innovation.

Thanks to the almost completely car-free city centre, it is easy to discover the city, on foot or by bike! So act like a ‘Leuvener’ and jump on a two-wheeler. From the centre you pedal in barely 10 minutes to the green outskirts of town, where you are surrounded by fields and woods.

Leuven is the ideal base for gravel routes in the region. There is no shortage of tough gravel roads in the province of Flemish Brabant, including the Gravel World Championships trail.

Leuven is easy to reach. From neighbouring countries, a train takes you straight to the heart of the city in about 2.5 hours. Brussels’ national airport (Zaventem) is just 15 minutes’ train ride away. Welcome to Leuven!
