Podcast / Symposium
This event is organized by the Leuven Centre of Sports Science (LCSS), a collaboration between Leuven professors specializing in performance sports.
On the weekend of October 5, the Gravel World Championships will take place in Leuven. In relation to this championship, LCSS is organizing a 2-day event on training coaching in endurance sports. This event will be held at the University Sports Center in Leuven.
On Thursday evening, October 3, there will be a live podcast recording of De Jogclub. World champion Seppe and ultrarunner Bobby search for the best stories in the sports world. From Olympic champions to coaches, dietitians, and local heroes, everyone is featured, and each month they conclude with a monthly overview including Strava exploits, viewing tips, poetry, and much more. During this live recording, Seppe and Bobby will look ahead to the Gravel World Championships, along with several interesting guests!
On Friday, October 4, there will be a symposium on the balance between performance and health in endurance sports. Although endurance sports are generally associated with health benefits, pushing boundaries during training and competitions also involves risks to the physical and mental health of athletes. Topics such as training load, recovery, nutrition, equipment, and ethics will be covered by numerous speakers with training and medical expertise.
Tickets for both events can be purchased separately.
