Flanders

There is lots to do in Flemish Brabant and Flanders, so be sure to stay a bit longer (before or after the World Championships), and book one of the recommended lodgings in the region. Cosy hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, holiday homes, campsites, … there’s something that suits your needs, budget and taste!

Tip: come and explore the course in spring or summer. That way you are well prepared for the start and you can discover the rest of Flanders at the same time. Why not go for a hike in the Forests of Brabant or perhaps a weekend in Leuven, Ghent, Bruges or Antwerp?

Do you prefer a training trip? Then we recommend the Flandrien Challenge: 59 legendary cobbled roads and hills within 72 hours. You did it? Then you can shine among the other Flandriens on the Wall of Fame in the Tour of Flanders Centre in Oudenaarde.

On www.cyclinginflanders.cc we also offer a selection of hand-picked routes throughout Flanders. Want a route that includes one or more specific cobbled hills? Check out our overview of the best cobblestone roads and climbs and the routes they are part of. The website also offers all necessary information to plan your cycling trip to Flanders.

Sport Vlaanderen

Giving everyone in Flanders the opportunity to get involved in high-quality sports and exercise throughout their lives, because it makes us healthier and happier as people, and stronger as a tight-knit society. That is what Sport Flanders – the sports administration of the Flemish government – believes in, and why it works together with the sports sector every day to make sport and exercise more attractive and accessible, tailored to each athlete. To this end, Sport Flanders invests in sports federations, clubs and events, sports infrastructure (including fourteen of its own centres), in training the trainers, sports promotion, knowledge sharing and top-level sports.

Flanders is cycling mad, which is why we support cycling in all its disciplines. Wherever you live in Flanders, a gravel or mountain bike route is never far away. We developed and coordinate 188 routes that together make up 8656.8 km of MTB and gravel fun. In Heusden-Zolder, we built and operate a brand-new velodrome, tailor-made for major championships, with local partners. We support innovative cycling clubs where possible, and with Flanders-Baloise we even have our own cycling team, in which we prepare young, local talents to reach the top.
