Sustainability

On October 5th and 6th, 2024, Flanders will host the 2024 Bolero UCI Gravel World Championships. The Gravel World Championships are coming home to the home of cycling. As a result, Flanders and the entire cycling world can prepare for what will undoubtedly be a memorable edition in the Forests of Brabant. This edition gives us the chance to firmly establish gravel cycling on the map once and for all, following the successful European and Belgian championships in 2023. It offers the opportunity to look forward, to face the challenges of gravel cycling together, and to create new memories. It is crucial to remain critical and move forward—in a new sport, in new times, with new challenges.

One of those challenges is sustainability. In recent years, environmental awareness has taken a central place in our society. Therefore, the 2024 Bolero UCI Gravel World Championships in Flanders aims to become a leader in sustainability. During the 2024 Bolero UCI Gravel World Championships, the UCI, together with the Flemish Government, the host cities, the LOC (local organizing committee), the Forests of Brabant, and all involved local parties, will work together to achieve this goal.

Below you will find the brief and detailed sustainability plan for more information.
